Jim’s Latest Column in AFP:
Mideast or Midwest?
• Middle East foreign aid should go to middle-class Americans
By former Rep. Jim Traficant
Uncle Sam gives Egypt $1.5B each year. It’s really a bribe, a ploy to keep Egypt aligned with Israel to keep a lid on the Middle East. Israel gets a lot more. Everybody thinks Israel receives a sum of $3.2B, but that’s not true.
Most analysts cite the $3.2B in foreign aid for Israel. That’s only a small part of it, folks. When you factor in all the money coming from a multitude of sources within the United States budget, you find that Israel is more than our 51st state.
No one in the media points out the vast amount of money going to Israel from the U.S. that is bogged down in debt and deficits.
Think about it. The U.S. is bankrupt, yet we shell out to Israel as much as $25B a year from all kinds of budgeted perks and gimmicks, which are hidden from the average American taxpayer lest he become infuriated. Yes, I said $25B—and it may be more.
You might ask: “Are you serious, Jim?” Absolutely, I am. It’s time to do some public accounting on our largesse to Israel.
Check this out: How many loans are made to Israel and have been made over the years? How many of those same loans were converted later to non-repayable grants? How many grants does Israel receive every year? What about housing guarantees? How about military and economic assistance other than foreign aid? How about trade concessions and dollar compacts? It goes on and on.
When you break it down, Israel receives upwards of $30K a year for every man, woman and child who lives in Israel. And, folks, that’s a conservative estimate on my part.
It’s gone too far. Israel maintains a stranglehold on the American taxpayer through a Congress totally owned by Israeli dollars—dollars that Israel receives from us, the American taxpayer.
Beam me up! There’s no intelligent life here!
Now, the Obama administration is going to cut $250M from Egyptian foreign aid. The White House announced in mid-October: “The Egyptian military that removed President Mohammed Morsi has not moved toward democracy fast enough. Thus we are making this sizable reduction in aid.”
Here we go again. These Egyptians have become addicted to American cash. And now comes the cut. All that money sent to Egypt didn’t make us friends. It made us another group of dependents, this time overseas.
These same so-called allies will be upset with the cut and then, bingo, another group of ingrates will be born to shout “Yankees, go home.”
You watch: Egypt’s attitude will be, “How dare you cut our money?”
Uncle Sam would be much wiser to invest all these Mideast giveaways in America’s Midwest. We might even balance the budget someday.
Think about it. Get back at me!
How They’ll ‘Solve’ the Debt Ceiling ‘Crisis’
By former Rep. Jim Traficant
I vividly remember the budget impasse of December 1985. Budget deficits were raising their ugly heads, and the American people were angry with most politicians and were clamoring for a balanced budget. Everyone in Congress was looking for some way to get around raising the debt limit so they could get re-elected. Debating all of this proved to be quite embarrassing for both parties.
In stepped Senators Phil Gramm (R-Texas) and Warren Rudman (R-N.H.), who had a plan that would supposedly satisfy everybody. It centered around a balanced budget with no more need to raise the debt limit. Their plan was to be called the “yellow brick road” of all timely resolutions. In actuality, it became known as “Gramm-Rudman.”
It was a five-year plan that would reduce the budget deficit incrementally from 1986 through 1991. By 1991, they claimed, the budget would be balanced. The Gramm-Rudman law also imposed strict consequences in the event that the yearly targeted reductions were not achieved.
Boy, this was some kind of political elixir. Balanced budget, no more raising the debt limit and all the politicians could proclaim success and get reelected.
Well, it didn’t turn out to be anything like that. After two years, Congress passed another extension. And after that, Congress passed a seven-year plan. All of these plans were to incrementally reduce budget deficits until the final year when the budget would be finally balanced.
The truth is, America went from Gramm-Rudman to bankruptcy.
All the so-called sequestration cuts that were to be automatically enacted were never put into play. The budget deficits continued to soar until this very day—which turned out to be a government shutdown.
Well, readers, it’s time to put on your seat belts and get ready for another ploy.
I predict there will be another raising of the debt limit with a few future promises. But I predict there will be another scheme that is much more critical for Washington politicos.
Congress will pass some form of “permanent” bill that would automatically raise the debt limit with no need for another embarrassing vote in Congress. In other words, the bill will simply make it an administrative exercise to raise the debt limit without any negative debates that would cost the politicians at the polls.
President Bill Clinton pulled this ploy on the sensitive issue of granting “Most Favored Nation” trade status for China. Prior to Clinton, every year there had been a hotly contested debate on this issue. But Clinton twisted enough Democrats to join the Republicans in making China’s trade status permanent. There were no more sensitive votes, and China got what it wanted, and American politicians wouldn’t have to face this troubling issue. This is what is called progressive legislation.
Get ready again, folks, for a permanent answer to the debt problem. The bill will automatically raise the debt limit when necessary. It will also have some “serious consequences” built into it. But as in Gramm-Rudman, they’ll never even happen.

China, Russia Want Dollar Hegemony Ended
By former Rep. Jim Traficant
In 2012, there was a secret meeting involving China, Japan, Russia and France. I learned of this through sources who have given me information for years. The furtive gathering concerns ending the use of the dollar in the purchase of oil. The new plan would utilize other currencies, gold and a new unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Cooperation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.
Shortly after the meeting took place, U.S. officials and central bankers vehemently denied that this quiet get-together was held and that any monetary plans were ever discussed.
Thou doth protest too much, methinks. In other words, usually, these denials actually validate the disclosure they fear.
To paraphrase France’s Charles de Gaulle: America will never be defeated with a missile, but it can be destroyed through the dollar.
It’s happening, folks.
I have predicted the collapse of our great nation by 2040. Pat Buchanan has also predicted our breakup within 25 years. I hope we’re wrong, but if our country continues on with these socialist policies and foolish trade positions, it is an inevitable development.
The secret meeting I cited above has now been confirmed by a number of sources, although the particulars have been basically outside the knowledge of the American people.
Reports now circulate that shortly after that secret meeting, and a forceful denial by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a report on a possible replacement for the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Think about it: The IMF is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and is the nongovernmental organization that oversees the world’s financial system.
Strap on your seat belts. The IMF has proposed replacing the dollar with special drawing rights, or SDRs. These SDRs can be converted to any currency.
The IMF has also proposed creating SDR bonds, which could impact U.S. treasury bonds.
The IMF has now implied that certain assets, such as oil and gold, could be priced using SDRs. Keep in mind, folks, oil and gold are currently traded in U.S. dollars.
This is getting clearer by the minutes of all those secret meetings. The dollar is in grave danger. I believe that a major move is underway to replace our U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency. I also believe that China is the major force behind attempting to replace the dollar. China has been secretly meeting with other countries to force agreements that circumvent the dollar.
What does this mean? Uncle Samis printing money to satisfy our growing debt. If the dollar is replaced, the dollar will be devalued. This development would cripple America.
Our government wants to conceal these dynamics from us, worried that investors and money managers will gravitate away from the dollar. It won’t work. Money goes where money grows.
One last warning: China has now officially stated that “displacing the dollar will reduce volatility in oil and commodity prices and erode the great privilege that the United States enjoys as the issuer of the reserve currency.”
As of this date, China has signed international currency agreements with Germany, Brazil, Russia, Australia, Japan, Chile, the United Arab Emirates, India and South Africa.
Every one of these agreements ultimately intends to reduce use of the dollar and gain support for China’s yuan as the next world’s reserve currency.
I can remember stating on the House floor that “Russia is a fly on our face, but China is a dragon about to eat our assets!”
No one is listening now, and no one was listening then, either.

Don’t Respond to Call of the War Drums
• American leaders should start doing some “nation building” right here at home
By former Rep. Jim Traficant
Listen very carefully. You will be able to hear a series of drum-rolls, faint of sound at first, but growing and growing to a crescendo of rhythmic vibrations. The drums I’m talking about are the drums of war against Syria.
More and more warmongers are pushing Uncle Sam to attack Syria. Syria poses not one iota of threat or endangerment to our national security.
I knew President Barack Obama was finally listening to the internationalists when he approved of arming the rebels in opposition to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. But arming the rebels did not appease the proponents of war. Now they want missiles. But no ground troops, just missiles, they say. Yeah, and I’m a fashion leader.
Who’s kidding whom?
The warmongers have painted an irresistible scenario. Most of the mainstream media have stated that Assad is a man of incredible cruelty. Assad is now being accused of chemical attacks, killing hundreds of his own countrymen, including sleeping children.
Doesn’t this sound a little like the old “weapons of mass destruction” ploy?
I don’t mean to be insensitive to the horrors of war in Syria, but I simply do not trust these interventionists and their sleazy methods that lead to our troops being transported home in body bags, as evidenced in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I heard these very same words being shouted loudly in the early stages of Iraq and Afghanistan. No ground troops, only air strikes, they claimed.
Folks, that is impossible to predict. Who knows what kind of complications can develop? Do you think Assad will not network with allies in the Middle East in an effort to spread us even further throughout the region?
America cannot solve the problems in Syria. Missiles fired from American ships will not unite Syria, nor will they stop the bloodshed. In fact, our missiles will cause more destruction and more bloodshed. Do you actually believe that no innocent bystanders will be killed?
Thank God for Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs Martin Dempsey. Dempsey stated: “The application of force rarely produces and, in fact, maybe never produces, the outcome that we seek.” He also said that military officials were “realistic about the cost we incur in blood and treasure when we apply the military instrument of national power, and . . . pragmatic about the limits of military force.”
Obama should listen to Dempsey. He makes sense. Meanwhile, Uncle Sam has some of his own “nation building” to do at home.

Perjury Systemic in ‘Justice’
By former Rep. Jim Traficant
“Perjury” is a term you hear often. Every legal dispute seems to invoke the word “perjury.” However, few people truly understand it. The exact meaning of perjury is when a witness willfully gives false testimony or withholds material facts or evidence when under oath in a judicial proceeding.
There’s another term that walks hand in hand with perjury. The term is “suborn.” Suborn means bribing or influencing another person to commit a criminal act. The criminal act is usually perjury.
Truth be known, the subornation of perjury has become modus operandi by the Justice Department. Making matters even worse, this criminal activity has spilled over into all branches of our government from the feds down to state and local agencies. This crime of perjury is now systemic throughout the government.
Case in point is John C. Inglis of the National Security Agency (NSA). Inglis recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, saying:
“Our surveillance programs have stopped at least 50 terrorist attacks.”
It didn’t stop there. Director of the NSA Keith Alexander said:
“NSA, through our surveillance programs, has prevented over 50 attacks and led to the capture of over 300 terrorists.”
The number games started out with 50 attacks being prevented, and now, the numbers are graduating to preventing 50 terrorist attacks and capturing over 300 terrorists. The numbers are growing faster than the noses of those two NSA nincompoops.
Let me be clear: I do not believe them. In fact, folks, I do not believe the NSA prevented one attack with these spy programs. And as far as capturing terrorists, I do not believe all this spying has led to the capture of even one person.
Any success that the NSA has had with terrorists is due to informants.
NSA officials have perjured themselves before Congress and the American people. Our government knows it. Our government has been turning its back on the crime of perjury. This will lead to disaster.
The NSA has spied on millions of Americans, with the blessings of Congress. The new buzzword “terrorist” has finally replaced the old reason for government misconduct, “communist.” Our government has used the word “communist” to bankrupt the country with military spending that was not needed. Abuse after abuse of taxpayer money has been introduced to counter communism. Now, the new sinkhole for taxpayer dollars is called terrorism.
A new poll shows that a majority of Americans believe Edward Snowden is a whistleblower, not a traitor. The American people are not stupid. They are beginning to interpret these government machinations as lies. Perjury is getting more and more evident. Even Joe Sixpack is starting to tune in.
Years ago, I was instructing coursework at Kent State University and happened to use one of the campus’s many restrooms.
I found it amusing that one bit of graffiti on the wall read:
“Don’t look down. The CIA is peeping up your assets.”
I never forgot that.
The Fourth Amendment assures:
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the person or things to be seized.”
Tell me, has this too become background music in a doctor’s office?
